Dr. Richard Hanks will be talking about the history of quilts back to the Civil War. He will bring his retirement quilt and his grandma's quilts to show. Richard will present an exhibit board with the very rare Civil War U.S. Sanitary Commission quilt and newspaper clippings about how it ended up in Redlands, CA.

The Utsalady Ladies Aid is a non-profit organization that was created in 1908 by Constance Olsen and a handful of hard-working women to serve the growing needs of the Utsalady community on Camano Island. One hundred years later, the Ladies Aid continues with the values set forth by those dedicated pioneer women.
The Utsalady Ladies Aid building was built in 1923 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. kitchen remodel. In 1908 a small group of hardworking women met at the home of Constance and Hans Peter Olsen to start an organization with a mission to serve the growing needs of Utsalady on Camano Island, Washington.
